"It will be an action movie." -Miyazaki
(Said during the making of the film.)

Mononoke Hime (The Princess Mononoke) is the latest film from arguably the greatest Japanese animated filmmaker, Hayao Miyazaki.
Some Facts:

Released in Japan on 12th July '97.

The film uses 144,000 cels - it is the most expensive Japanese animation movie ever made. (At 2.35 billion yen ($20 million), or twice the cost of Akira.)

International release will be handled by Disney (Miramax). The standards should be high, as Disney is going to aggressively market MH.

Q: Will the film be dubbed/subbed/cut?

The first countries in the 'west' to enjoy the theatrical release of Mononoke Hime will be the US, UK, Australia, France, Spain and Brazil.

US release is reported as late spring / summer 1999.  Neil Gaiman (author of The Sandman) will write the English version!

Q: Where can I get it (the Japanese version)?
A: See Nausicaa.Net's availability page.
